Training Academy

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office operates a training academy which provides in-service training, mandatory courses, and continuing education courses for Lubbock and area Peace Officers, Communication Operators, Constables and Detention Officers (Jailers). In addition the academy provides licensing certification classes Basic Peace Officers, Basic Telecommunicators and Basic Jailers.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Academy is an approved training site for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glenco, Georgia. This designation allows the Sheriff’s Academy to host training on a national basis and brings advanced specialized training to Lubbock and a fourteen state region.
