Training Academy

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office operates a training academy which provides in-service training for Lubbock and area Peace Officers, Communication Operators, Constables and Detention Officers (Jailers). In addition the academy provides classes for mandatory and continuing education courses for Peace Officers, Basic Telecommunicator Course and Basic Jailer Certification schools. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Academy is an approved training site for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glenco, Georgia. This designation allows the Sheriff’s Academy to host training on a national basis and brings advanced specialized training to Lubbock and a fourteen state region.
