The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office houses the Emergency Management Office for Lubbock County.

The Emergency Management Office responses to natural disasters. They connect victims to services needed and request state and federal help when needed. The Emergency Management office also provides public education regarding disaster preparedness and work with locate organized arrange drills and training exercises. The Emergency Management Office has it’s own Facebook account you can follow where it posts information about weather and natural disasters in the Lubbock area.

Mission

Our mission is to continue to protect and serve the citizens of Lubbock County from natural and man-made disasters which may impact our community.  We are dedicated in providing the highest quality of emergency services to reduce injury, loss of life and property through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

Mobile Operations Vehicle (MOV) Team

In an effort to support this office the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office has also set up a Mobile Operations Vehicle Team. These team members specialize in stablishing communications when other networks fail or when additional command posts are needed. The is comprised of both jailers and peace officers.  They man a communications vehicle that can be taken to a disaster site. MOV trains monthly on emergency communication operations and hosts community events to educate the public on disaster preparedness.
