The Logistics Division is comprised of TCOLE certified jailers and civilian staff. They are tasked with ensuring the Detention Center runs smoothly but ensuring everything from supply orders to laundry services are arranged.  Logistics is typically on duty Monday- Friday from 8am-5pm, although that can vary depending on the assignment.  All members of the Logistics Division Report to the Director of Logistics.

The Office of Professional and Ethical Standards (OPS)

The Office of Professional and Ethical Standards (OPS) reviews Detention Policy, are the official custodians of Record for the Detention Center, oversee the Detention Center training programs, and set training standards. Background Investigations

Background Investigator conduct background checks on prospective employees, volunteers, and contract service staff. Additionally they serve as recruiting officers at official events. Transport

The Transportation Department is tasked with moving inmates to and from the facility. Transport Officer must officer mist obtain a Jailer’s Firearm Certification in addition to a Jailer’s Certification and are required to quality with their weapon annually. Transport officers move inmates to and from the county courthouse, outside medical appointments, and other correctional facilities nationwide. Transport Officers authorized to move inmates across state lines must also hold an active Texas Peace Officers License.

Work Release

Work Release is the point of contact for individuals sentenced to community service or weekend jail sentencing. The Work Release office is located downtown at 801 Min Street, Lubbock, Texas 79401. This office also provides fingerprints services for citizens requiring ink fingerprint card. The cost of fingerprints is $10 for two cards. Finance

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office Finance Department handles inmate accounts and bond related transactions. Inmates can request statements from finance monthly via their inmate tablet. TDC Coordinator

The TDC Coordinator handles transfer of custody between the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Lubbock County Detention Center. The TDC Coordinator can be contacted Monday through Friday from 7:00A.M. – 4:00P.M. at (806)775-7007.

Jail Population Manager

The Jail Population Manager is tasked with auditing all inmates in custody to ensure all inmates have assigned cases, court dates, or arrangements made for their next step in teh legal process. Jail Population Managers work to ensure no one is overlooked or “lost” in the criminal justice system. Inmate Grievance Office

The Inmate Grievance Office is responsible for ensuing all inmate grievances are addressed within the timelines set by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. The Grievance Office is responsible for reviewing all grievances and forwarding them to the proper department for investigation and review. Auditing
