Lubbock Regional Public Safety Memorial Fundraising
The Lubbock Regional Public Safety Memorial preserves the memory of the Public Responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice and to honor those who continue to serve and protect the citizens of their communities. It honors EMS, Fire, and Peace Officers who have given their life in the line of duty. The LCSO helps raise funds for the upkeep of this memorial by selling challenge coins for $10 each. Please contact the Public Information Officer if you are interested in purchasing one at 806-775-1496
Battle of the Badges
The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office is throwing it’s hat in the ring for this year’s 10th annual Battle of the Badges. This is an annual blood drive by Vitalant, a local blood donation center. Donors will be asked to vote for the Lubbock Police Department, Lubbock Fire Department, or the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Offices at the time of their donation. The department with the most votes receives a trophy and the honor of being named champion for the year.
This will be the first time in several years the LSO has entered the competition (we wanted to give anyone else a chance to win). Donations will be collected at the South Plains Mall where deputies will be stopping to meet the doors and answer any questions the public has about the Sheriff’s Department.
Tip-A-Cop
Join us Thursday, July 24th at Texas Roadhouse for a night that’s all about good food, great people, and giving back! Members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run will be trading badges for aprons and serving dinner to raise funds for our incredible Special Olympics athletes — who will be there as our guests of honor!
National Night Out
Every year the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office participates in the nationwide National Night Out campaign. This is a night dedicated to heightening crime prevention awareness, increasing neighborhood support in anti-crime efforts, and uniting our communities. National Night Out also allows our county residents to meet the officers who patrol their areas.
Lubbock’s National Night Out features police officers, equipment, vehicles, SWAT Unit, K9, fire trucks, and other crime prevention-themed organizations. We typically include food, music, activities, games, and kid-friendly entertainment. Officers hope to engage adults, parents, and their children to promote crime prevention and general safety.
The first Nation Night Out came about in 1984 after an officer introduced the idea of having a bigger celebration between law enforcement and their communities. Now, communities host festivals, parades, block parties, and more.
This years National Night Out is tentatively scheduled for October 7th, 2025.
