The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center offers work opportunities within the jail for those inmates that qualify. Inmates can get positions in the laundry, kitchen, janitorial department, warehouse, and several off site locations. The working inmate program is a strictly a voluntary program; no inmates are forced to join. Those inmates that opt to join the working inmate program are eligible for working inmate credit toward any county jail sentence.
