Summary of Qualifications
Natalie Ybarra was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1961. She started her law enforcement career by joining the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office in 1988. Her first assignment was with the Records Division before taking a transfer back to the Jail in 1989. Soon she was promoted to a Corporal and worked hard to receive her Peace Officer’s License in 1994. A new opportunity found her reassigned to the United States Marshal’s North Texas Violent Crimes and Fugitive Task Force. After completing her assignment, she returned back to the Jail as a Corporal. In 1997 because of her experience working with the United States Marshals she was asked to work at the Lubbock County Courthouse as a Court Security Deputy. In 2006, Natalie again returned back to the jail and rose through the ranks and in September of 2021 was promoted as the B Shift Watch Commander.
Some achievements Natalie has obtained are as follows; becoming a lifetime member of the Texas Jail Association and being a member of the American Jail Association, getting her Master Peace Officer License (2014), graduating from the National Jail Leadership Academy (2018), accepting the B Shift Lieutenant position (2018). She received recognition in 1997 when she was awarded the Brillante Award in Dallas, TX, for being one of the most influential Hispanic females in the State of Texas for her work on the US Marshal’s Task Force. Then in 2000, she received the Hispanic of the Year Award in the legal division for being inspirational to other Hispanic females in Law Enforcement.
