Anthony Castillo, Captain, Law Enforcement

Anthony Castillo, was born in Carlsbad New Mexico in April of 1978. Growing up in a law enforcement family, Castillo began a career in corrections with the Wackenhut Corporation in Hobbs, NM where he worked for two years as a correctional officer. In January of 2001 Castillo hired on with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office as a Jailer. He served as a member of the Honor Guard during his tenure in the Jail. He attended the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office Academy in 2003 where he received his Basic Peace Officer License.In November 2003 he was selected as a member of the SWAT Team where he rose through the ranks as a training coordinator, sniper, and assistant team leader then, team leader. He served on the SWAT Team for almost 12 years before transitioning to the Hostage/Crises Negotiations Unit for 4 years.In April 2004 Castillo was selected and transferred to the Court Division where he served as a Court Deputy. In April 2005, he was assigned to the Warrant and Fugitive Division. Then in July 2007 he was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division, where he promoted to the rank of Sergeant in January 2013 and Lieutenant in March of 2014. During his tenure in the Criminal Investigations Division he worked, and oversaw a multitude of criminal investigations. In October 2020, Lt. Castillo transferred to the Patrol Division. Castillo became the Uniformed Services Captain in November 2022. He currently oversees the Patrol Division, Courthouse Security Division, and Fleet Services outside of his professional accomplishments, Captain Castillo is a graduate of Jal High School and studied at New Mexico Junior College. He is a devoted husband and father of two, balancing the demands of his career with a commitment to his family.
