The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office has assigned several divisions to the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Center. The Texas Anti-Gang Center houses several local and federal agencies that work together to combat gang activity.
All TAG assigned divisions report to the TAG Operations captain.
Narcotics
The Narcotics division conducts criminal investigations relating to narcotic drug laws and other dangerous substances.
They work closely with all other agencies to dramatically impact the illicit sale and possession of illegal drugs. This includes Texoma High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Caprock Initiative. The division also works to educate the public on the dangers of narcotics. They take tips from teh public through anonymous submission online and via the Sheriff’s app.

K9
The K9 division uses both bite-trained dogs and narcotics detection dogs. Handlers work with their canine partners to incept drug trafficking operations and apprehend dangerous suspects. K9 officers frequently attend public events and work to help educate citizens on the dangers of drug use. Our K9 handlers will assist any agency requesting the use of a trained handler and partner.
Gang Intelligence and Street Crimes
The Gang Intelligence and Street Crimes units work as a hybrid team. Officers are assigned within the Lubbock County Detention Center and within the Texas Anti-Gang Unit. Officers work together identified gang members in our community, track gang networks, and curb gang activity.
